  • Specialist training for women

One task of the Equal Opportunities Officer is to participate in all recruitment procedures at DESY. As the Equal Opportunities Officer cannot take part personally in all of these, she sometimes appoints a suitably qualified specialist to deputise for her. The DESY employees who take on this role are offered regular specialist training.

If you would like to represent the Equal Opportunities Officer in recruitment procedures, please contact the Equal Opportunities Office.

General information

  • Support for under-represented men?

The answer is "no".  The issue of gender equality is about eliminating disadvantages that arise primarily or only for women in their careers. It is important to work against such disadvantages for the future. The numerical under-representation must result from structural disadvantages based on gender. Men can be under-represented. If they are, this does not result from structural discrimination against men.

There is no structural discrimination against men on the basis of their gender "man" in Germany.

The Equal Opportunities Office at DESY is obliged to guide and support female employees in their personnel matters on their request. The reason for this is the "General Works Agreement on Equal Opportunities for Women at DESY" agreed between the Directorate and the General Works Council.

The Equal Opportunites Office is also responsible for men in matters concerning the compatibility of work and family.

More information on this topic can be obtained from the Equal Opportunities Office or in direct contact with the Equal Opportunites Office / Deputy Equal Opportunites Office. If you are interested, please make an appointment: 040 / 8998 - 1831. Thank you.

  • Mailinglists

We provide a notification service that sends DESY's female employees email updates on issues related to equal opportunities and equal rights. For example gender-relevant events, activities around Women's Representatives, calls for special scholarships for women, websites of interest etc.

If you would like to be added to the mailing list, please contact the Equal Opportunities Office.
